Exegetical and practical study of First, Second, and Third John.

BI 213 - Major Prophets

Examination of the major prophetic books, Isaiah, Jeremiah (and Lamentations), and Ezekiel, examining in detail their messages, both historic and prophetic.

Two (2) semester hours; a core requirement for the Bachelor’s Degree.


Analytical study of the book of Acts, and the early development of Christianity. 


Course Description

BI312 - Romans

A detailed, verse-by-verse analysis of Paul’s development of the doctrine of redemption - righteousness by faith.

Two (2) semester hours; a required core course for both Associate’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree.

Verse by verse analysis of the entire epistles, with examination of introductory matters as well.  Close examination of its explanation of OT types, analysis of difficult passages, application of its many warnings, and application of devotional truths found in this treatise/epistle. Reference to the underlying meanings of the words of the original language often made.

Course Description

This is an exegetical course on the purpose and teachings of Paul’s Epistle to the believers in the region of Galatia. Included are teachings on the doctrines of justification, sanctification, and the moral law in the dispensation of the church. Significant material is devoted to the salvation messages in different dispensations and the unbiblical theology of Calvinism.

 

Course Objectives

The student will be able to:

·         Understand the purpose and reasons for Paul’s letter.

·         Understand the challenges faced by Paul in correcting bad theology.

·         Identify the beliefs and characteristics of the epistles recipients.

·         Identify the message and accusations of the Judiazers.

·         Obtain a more complete understanding of the Mosaic (moral) law.

·         Know the differences between Galatianism and antinomianism.

·         See and understand the flaws of godly men in a ministry.

·         Understand Abraham’s significance to the New Testament gospel message.

·         Learn the Biblical method for helping deceived brothers.

·         Explain the doctrines of soteriology taught by Paul, the doctrines of grace.

·         Explain why all five points of Calvinism are unsound and unbiblical.

·         Understand the significance of many terms used throughout the Bible.

·         Understand the proper use for the moral law.

·         Explain what is meant by Christian liberty.

Introduction to Galatians; the region and people, problem, response, and an outline.

Chapter 1; The truth about the Gospel and where Paul got it from.

Chapter 2; Personal address - the truth about justification and the position of the believer.

Chapter 3; The Doctrinal Address - What the Gospel is and what it isn't.

Chapter 4; The doctrinal Argument of the case for grace.

Chapter 5; Practical address - Stand fast in liberty.

Chapter 6; Practical address, do the law of liberty, sowing and reaping, and the conclusion.

This course will present the student with studies from Daniel and Revelation. It will discuss prophecy in the Old and New Testaments. Students will be able to see a clear presentation of prophecy after the Rapture and see how the Old Testament and the New Testament are intertwined. This course takes a hard look at prophecy.

Verse by verse study stressing the life, miracles, and teachings of the Son of God, with practical application to daily Christian living and the needs of the personal worker.

A basic seminar on personal development for women, including integrity, ethics, values, motivations, leadership, standards, Christian graces, in home, family and ministry.

A lecture/seminar on personal development for men, including integrity, ethics, values, leadership, standards, and Christian graces.

How We Got Our Bible (also called Bible Introduction): Acquainting the student with the background of the Bible - history of the canon, various manuscripts, versions, and with the inspiration of the Bible.

Interpretive course drawing from Genesis to Revelation the prophetic scriptures that deal with the last times. 

The case for Biblical Christianity; evidences for the existence of God, internal evidences of the divine authorship of the Bible, and practical applications to personal evangelism.
